Bill Shaver created Pigman’s in late 1985 as a way to expand his seasonal country ham shop. Nicknamed, “The Pigman,” (after his adoration for his pet pig, Piggy Lou), Bill created a legacy with his exotic pets and tasty barbeque.

Challenges That Pigman's Bar-B-Que Faced 

Some of the marketing challenges that we faced were, although print seems to be getting phased out as a whole, in our area, it is still an advertising necessity. We are in a unique market where people still pick up the coupon books, and listen to the radio to hear what is going on in our resort town. That being said, we knew that we needed to adapt to the changes in the advertising world. Having an online presence in this day and age is huge. We didn't really have one until about two years ago. Most of our clientele are vacationers who want to order their meals and such as conveniently as possible. After talking with other restaurants around the area, they were telling us that adding online ordering would be a game changer for us....especially for the type of restaurant that we are.
